Introduction
Greetings from the Office of Alumni Activities. This section of our website contains information about alumni events and organizations. Additional items about the school and the alumni can be found in the current issue of The Quadrangle.
If you are a Central Catholic graduate who has not been receiving mail from the school or have recently moved, please update your information via this secure form or email your current address to jfolino@pittcentralcatholic.org to ensure that the alumni database is updated and accurate. We want you to know about the good things continually happening at Central, and we want to hear news about you.
Consider being your class’s Representative. We know you’re busy, so the responsibilities are few. Just pass on to us information you acquire about a classmate’s change of residence, need for prayers, etc., and, when your reunion year is approaching, persuade a few of your buddies to help plan the events. Classes ending in “2” and “7” should begin their reunions.
The Christian Brothers remember you in prayer every day. Please keep us in yours.
Young Alumni Gathering & Gyro Fest
Central Catholic will host a Young Alumni Gathering and Gyro Fest on Friday June 6th in Quadrangle from 6 to 10 PM. Members of theChris Botti - Smooth As Silk Concert
On June 21, 2008, join fellow alumni for an evening with famed trumpeter, Chris Botti at Heinz Hall. Central alumni will gather for a pre-concert reception at 6:00 PM. Only 200 tickets are available. Click here to print the registration form.
New "Alumni in the Arts" Feature Added to Alumni Website
Central Catholic has a proud tradition of graduates in the arts. This new page is being develpoed to allow those who wish to notify alumni of their published books, music CD’s, poems, and art works. Please support your Central Catholic brothers.
New Director of Alumni Relations Hired
Central Catholic is happy to announce the hiring of Jeff Folino, class of 1975, as the first full time Director of Alumni Relations. Jeff brings a variety of experience to the position from community organizer to athlete and coach to twenty-seven years as a professional writer. As Director of Alumni Relations, Jeff will coordinate class reunions, work with the Golden Vikings to strengthen their program, and develop several new initiatives, such as establishing alumni clubs in key cities where a number of Central graduates reside.

The 20th will be mass at St. Paul’s Cathedral followed by dinner at the PAA. The Golden Vikings are currently planning a fall 2008 event. If you are a graduate of 50 years or more and are interested in becoming a part of the Golden Vikings please contact Jeff Folino in the Alumni Office at 412-208-3488 or at jfolino@pittcentralcatholic.org.
Membership automatically includes every alumnus whose class has celebrated its 50th anniversary of graduation. A few of those grads will soon meet to discuss possible activities of interest to the Membership.
Event Summaries:
- » The first gathering of the Golden Vikings, on December 6, was a great success. About 170 grads and spouses attended Mass at Holy Spirit Church, then gathered in the Central Catholic cafeteria for a light reception and pleasant converation.
- » A Golden Vikings luncheon was held on Saturday, April 30th, at Churchill Valley Country Club. Over 100 graduates and spouses met for lunch and spent an enjoyable afternoon together.
- » Over 200 Golden Vikings and their guests came together on September 18th for a memorial Mass in the newly restored McGonigle Theater (auditorium). Following the Mass, everyone was invited to the cafeteria for refreshments and meet with other fellow Vikings. Tours of the school were available after Mass by current Central Catholic students.
- » On Wednesday, June 7, 2006, approximately 55 Golden Vikings gathered together in Central Catholic's cafeteria for a Social to reminisce and renew old friendships. Fifteen classes were represented at this event.
